Fig newtons used to be my thing, especially in college, when I picked up an Whole Food’s brand and realized that there were nuttier, not-so-uncomfortably-sweet versions that existed out there in the world. It changed my cookie game. No more brownies or oreo, just soft, and chewy creamy-centered fig newtons.
I figured, since it was the heartier ingredients that turned me own, and that homemade quality that turned me on, it would be only natural to make them at home enlisting the wholesome ingredients I have in my pantry, plus of course, chocolate. Because, who would I be without that tiny addition? 🙂
